In this first recreation of the thrilling THE JURY format, a jury of 12 ordinary citizens are presented with a mystifying death, and a defendant whose fate is now in their hands. Recreating a real case through the original court transcript, we get behind the scenes to explore the criminal process, and the human element involved in a jury of peers rendering a verdict. We watch how this cohort of twelve strangers interpret confounding evidence, judge the motives and expertise of witnesses and decode the cleverness of defence and prosecution tactics. How To Stay Out Of Jail

Follow an elite police team whose extraordinary mission it is to not send criminals to prison. Based in County Durham, each year the local police apprehend thousands of offenders accused of everything from drugs to assault to child neglect or domestic abuse. Some offenders are given a once in a lifetime chance to reform and cancel out their crime by joining a tough 16-week scheme. If they fail it’s off to court and possibly prison.

Starting high in the snowy mountains, Adnan joins wildlife activists releasing bears into the wild; enters tunnels dug by ISIS in Mosul which house an incredible discovery; gains rare access to a booming oil-refinery; and meets Iraqi Kurdistan’s biggest pop star. He joins female soldiers who long for independence from Iraq, before travelling through majestic gorges to reach the contested oil fields of Kirkuk, where Kurdish and Iraqi forces recently clashed. 15 years on, the future of Iraq looks optimistic.
