Narrated by award-winning actress Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy, Killing Eve), TRIMATES is a documentary for the whole family. This is a story of two generations of women: the young pioneers - Jane Goodall, Dian Fossey and Birute Galdikas - who set out into the jungles over half a century ago to live with our closest ancestors, the great apes. This is also the story of a generation who followed their articles, transfixed by their stories and determined to follow the same distant paths. Featuring an original musical score, and up-close and personal footage filmed by one of the world’s most renowned natural history cinematographers, this film takes us deep into the jungles and mountains of Uganda, Borneo and Congo, as we explore the frontiers of important research and our human origins.

Wild Antarctica

To understand how life can exist in this continent of snow and icebergs we must spend a year there. We discover that despite being the least habitable place on Earth, life abounds in Antarctica. Megafauna such as humpback whales and orcas, massive seals and stately penguins all take the brutal conditions head on and thrive in this year on ice.

Cub Camp

Judy and Roger Stearns, ordinary people with a little bit of land and a lot of heart, run Black Bear Rescue Manitoba. Every spring they welcome in orphaned black bear cubs to their 10-acre facility. All of the cubs arrive deeply traumatized and alone, with some cubs being so young that they are blind and helpless. But with the round-the-clock care provided by the Stearns, including bottle feeding at all hours, these baby bears gradually recover and even thrive. As they grow, they develop distinct personalities, and learn the skills they need to survive. And, in the fall, the group of healthy and confident cubs are ready to return to the wilderness, having grown up under the safe wing of CUB CAMP.
