The Great Elephant Tale

The film follows three elephant herds in three very different African environments; the lush abundance of the Okavango delta (Botswana), the wilds of the remote Lower Zambezi valley (Zambia) and the harsh terrain of the Hoanib Desert (Namibia). In each habitat we follow a different character. A mother guides her family to find food, water and shelter, a young calf navigates the dangers of her new environment and a bull pursues a breeding herd as he attempts to extend his bloodline. The three narratives intertwine as we compare and contrast the challenges faced by the same species in vastly different scenarios, while bitesize factual sequences are placed to give the viewer a deeper understanding of what makes elephants tick.
